Walkie-talkie system soon at Srimandir

Puri(14/10/2025): The security at the Puri Srimandir will soon be upgraded.

As part of the new measures, mobile phones will be completely banned inside the temple premises.

Even police personnel and servitors will not be allowed to carry mobiles. Security Sub-Committee Chief Girish Chandra Murmu, after a review meeting, said that a walkie-talkie communication system will be introduced to maintain coordination inside the temple. He stated that the meeting focused on both internal and external security arrangements.

Some steps will be handled directly by the temple administration, while others will be implemented by the state government. “The intention is not to inconvenience anyone.

These measures are being taken solely to ensure the safety and sanctity of the shrine,” Murmu clarified. He further added that the security systems of other major temples will also be studied before finalizing the new arrangements.
