Online Auto services halted in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar(14/10/2025): Online auto-rickshaw services in Bhubaneswar have come to a standstill on Tuesday. Members of the Smart City Auto Drivers’ Association staged a demonstration in front of the Capital Police Station, alleging that online auto drivers were assaulted by station auto drivers. The clash reportedly took place a day before the Gajalaxmi Puja over picking up passengers.

Following the incident, a complaint was lodged at the Kharavel Nagar police station, accusing some members of the station auto union of attacking online drivers. Based on the complaint, police arrested a few members from both unions.

However, protesters demanded the release of innocent drivers and the arrest of only those directly involved in the assault.

To press their demand, they parked their autos and continued the demonstration in front of the police station.
