Legendary weightlifter Bijay Satpathy passes away

Bhubaneswar (23/09/2025): Arjuna Awardee and legendary weightlifter Bijay Satpathy passed away at his residence in Berhampur of Ganjam district. He died at 8:40 PM on Monday due to age related issues. Bijay Satpathy won the Silver Medal in the Men's Bantamweight event at 1982 Commonwealth Games. He was conferred with the prestigious Arjuna Award in the year 1981-82 by the Government of India.
