Odisha Police launches incentive scheme offering cash rewards for capturing Maoists

Bhubaneswar (17/10/2025): The Odisha Police has launched a new incentive scheme offering cash rewards for capturing Maoists or providing information about their whereabouts. Posters announcing the programme have appeared at more than nine locations across Boudh district, including Sigadi, Tilpanga, Udamunda, Matagadu, Khandikhanpa, Luharpada, Nalikumpa, and Palam, as well as in dense forest areas under Boudh, Kantamal, Baunshuni and Manmunda police stations. The posters issued by the Boudh district police, an amount of Rs 4.3 crore has been earmarked as rewards for tips leading to the arrest of 10 identified Maoists.
Rewards are structured on basis of the level of threat and prominence of the Maoist.
An amount of Rs 1 crore will be given for capture of most wanted Maoists.
Similarly, Rs 20 lakh will be provided for actionable intelligence.
For hardcore Maoists, Rs 50 lakh per individual will be given.
Individuals providing information about Maoists who have been killed or surrendered will also be eligible for rewards.
The identity of informants will remain confidential.
