
Odisha CM distributes appointment letters to 1,686 newly appointed officers
Bhubaneswar (15/09/2025): Government jobs not only provide secure livelihoods but are also an excellent and effective medium of public service, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said on Monday while addressing newly appointed officers at the 11th employment fair. The employment fair was held at the IDCO Exhibition Ground, Bhubaneswar.At this event, appointment letters were distributed to 1,686 candidates in seven departments — Health and Family Welfare (982), Water Resources (413), Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment (34), Skill Development and Technical Education (136), Fisheries and Animal Resources (23), Finance (61) and Law (37).This is the second employment fair in the second year of the government’s tenure. Congratulating and wishing the new appointees, the Chief Minister said it is their duty to work within the framework of government rules and policies.“Stay above corruption, work well, earn a good reputation, and make honesty an inseparable part of your work culture.You will gain immense self-satisfaction and the blessings of ordinary poor people, which is your biggest asset,” he said. He added that the biggest challenge for the youth today is employment, especially government jobs.Therefore, in just 15 months, through 11 employment fairs, 30,032 government posts have been filled.The government had set a target of filling 65,000 government posts in its first two years.By June 2026, another 40,000 posts will be filled.Complete transparency and merit-based selection are being followed in the recruitment process.Adequate employment opportunities are being created for the youth in both government and private sectors.In the last 15 months, 1,07,926 persons have been employed in government and private sectors, the Chief Minister said.
