
No fertilizer shortage in Odisha: CM Majhi
Bhubaneswar(11/09/2025): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has assured that there is no shortage of fertilizers in the state.During a review meeting on fertilizer supply in the state at Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar on Thursday, the Chief Minister directed all District Collectors to monitor the distribution of fertilizers through PACS and LAMPCS to prevent black marketing, hoarding, and the circulation of counterfeit products. The CM emphasized that instead of seizing fertilizer during inspections, it should be redirected to the nearest cooperative societies for proper distribution to farmers. He said, "For the 2025 Kharif season, 9.55 lakh metric tons of fertilizer are required, and the Centre has already allocated this quantity.As of now, 9.85 lakh metric tons out of the 11.66 lakh metric tons available have already been distributed." CM Majhi instructed the Agriculture Department and Markfed to ensure timely supply and distribution based on district-level demand.He also called for strict district and block-level vigilance to curb illegal practices. He further highlighted the state's initiatives on crop diversification and integrated farming under the Samruddha Krushak Yojana and assured support for farmers in flood-affected areas. Deputy CM Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Cooperation Minister Pradeep Bal Samant, and senior officials including Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja and Agriculture Principal Secretary Arvind Padhee attended the meeting.
