Hirakud Dam releases season's first floodwater

Sambalpur(06/07/2025): The Hirakud Dam in Sambalpur district released the first floodwater of this season on Sunday.

The gates were opened after puja ceremonies, with Gate No.7 being the first to open.

A total of 12 gates will be opened in phased manner. The collectors of 12 low lying districts have been asked to remain on alert.
