
Review-cum-capacity building program held for Principals of upgraded Higher Secondary Schools
Bhubaneswar(04/07/2025): The Directorate of Higher Secondary Education (DHSE) under the Department of School and Mass Education of the Odisha government organised a one-day review cum capacity building programme for the Principals (I/C) of Government Upgraded Higher Secondary Schools at Krushi Bhavan in Bhubaneswar.The workshop was graced by Additional Secretary, School and Mass Education Department Subhasree Nanda as chief guest, while the Director, DHSE, Raghuram R.Iyer, Joint Director,OSEPA, Sasmita Sahu, Joint Director, Regional Directorate of Education, Bhubaneswar Diptimayee Subhadarshini, Director, DHSE, Smt.Snigdha Mishra, Joint Director, DHSE, Sasmita Mali were prominently present. The Additional Secretary said that youth have a role to play in development of Viksit Bharat and for this purpose teachers/principals can give them the right guidance.She also said that the principal are the main pillars of education.Through today's workshop, the principals will expand the scope of knowledge and contribute to development of Viksit Bharat.Speaking at the beginning of the workshop, Director, DHSE welcomed all the guests, the principals I/C who participated in the workshop and outlined its main objectives.Similarly, Joint Director, OSEPA, said that this workshop is being organised to develop skills and make the principals I/C more efficient in all the field.She said that if one focuses one's potential towards solving problems, positive results can be obtained.In addition, Joint Director guided the principals I/C about the different sessions of the workshop.In today's workshop, the Principals I/C were made aware of their roles and various issues related to the good governance of the Higher Secondary School such as examination management methods, analysis of examination results, career counselling, scholarship, e-admission process, guest faculty engagement, utilization of grants under the Samagra Shiksha and PM-Shri School, UDISE update, preparation of APPAR ID, self-defence training for girl students etc.were discussed.
