Human chain to mark World Day Against Child Labour

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to sensitise the slum dwellers and other stakeholders for the holistic development children living in urban & rural poverty, a human chain and oath taking ceremony were organised at Nilachakra Nagar under ward no-26 of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation on the eve of World Day Against Child Labour by ActionAid Association in collaboration with Center for child & Women Development (CCWD).

Attending as guest Sadasiv Swain, Secretary of CCWD highlighted the plight situation of children and legal laws.

He focused that holistic approach and awareness is most essential.

Every parent should be aware about children’s future and say no to child labour – Yes to school, so that, we can create a child labour free society, Swain added.

Among others Snigdha Dash, Saraswati Parida, Shiba Sahoo and Kalyani Rout shared the ongoing challenges.

The welcome address was covered by Renubala Sahoo.

Lastly Sucharita Behera Proposed a warm vote of thanks to all.

The programme was coordinated by Smrutirekha Das, Bishnupriya Samal and Bhaskar Chandra Pradhan.
