Puri(10/06/2025):
Ramakrushna Das Mahapatra, the Daitapati Niyog Secretary, has been reinstated after a month-long suspension.
He has rejoined the service of Lord Jagannath.
Ramakrushna was suspended for allegedly engaging in activities that went against tradition.
During his suspension, he was barred from entering the temple premises and participating in the Lord's service.
The controversy surrounding him began when he visited the Digha Jagannath Temple.
It is alleged that Mahapatra provided Nabakalebar surplus wood that was used for making the idols of Digha Jagannath Temple.
There was opposition to renaming Digha as 'Dham'.
With his suspension lifted, Ramakrushna has now resumed his duties in the temple.
The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) had suspended senior servitor Ramkrushna Das Mahapatra for 30 days amid the controversy concerning the Digha Jagannath temple in West Bengal.
