
World Environment Day observed by ActionAid Association & CCWD
Bhubaneswar (07/06/2025): Aiming to protect the future generation and plastic free Odisha, voluntary organisation named ActionAid Association in collaboration with Center for Child and Women Development (CCWD) conducted an awareness drive and planted saplings at Aurobinda Nagar under ward No-9 of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation on the occasion of World Environment Day.The objective of the programme was to sensitise the slum dwellers about the bad effects of using plastic, said Sadasiv Swain Secretary of CCWD. Attending as guest Associate Director of ActionAid Association Debabrat Patra shared the prevailing situation of climate change and plastic pollution.In this programme members of Child Club, Bhubaneswar Young Urban Women Forum, Self -Help Groups, ASHA, AWW and students of Sailabala Womenโs College actively participated.The programme was coordinated by Soumya Ranjan Das, Siba Sahoo, Snigdha Das, Kalyani Rout, Gitanjali Panda, Renubala Sahoo, Sucharita Behera, Smrutirekha Das and Bhaskar Chandra Pradhan.
