Amid a sharp increase in COVID cases in several Asian countries, the Odisha government has intensified surveillance and testing measures.
In view of COVID cases reported from Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand, the Odisha Health department is in discussion with the World Health Organisation (WHO), which is yet to register any positive case from the state.
According to Public Health Director Dr Nilakantha Mishra, the Centre and state government are on alert after COVID-19 cases were detected in Singapore, Hong Kong and Thailand.
The state government will take steps to deal with possible COVID situation as per Central Government's directives.
However, no new positive case has been reported in Odisha since long time.
