Salary of MPs hiked

Bhubaneswar(24/03/2025): The salary of Indian Members of Parliament (MPs) has been increased.Their monthly salary has been raised by Rs 24,000, from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.24 lakh.Additionally, their daily allowance has been increased from Rs 2,000 to Rs 2,500. Former MPs will also receive a pension increase of Rs 6,000, from Rs 25,000 to Rs 31,000 per month.This change will be effective from April 1, 2023, and will be applied retrospectively.
