Australian Consul General visits CSIR-IMMT to strengthen Indo-Australian collaboration in critical minerals

Bhubaneswar(18/03/2025): The Australian Consul General, Kolkata, H.E.Hugh Boylan, visited CSIR-IMMT today, engaging with Dr.Ramanuj Narayan, Director, CSIR-IMMT, and researchers to discuss ongoing advancements in critical minerals technology development. During the visit, H.E.Boylan toured the facilities, including the Advanced Minerals Processing Pilot Plant and the Seabed Minerals Extractive Metallurgy Pilot Plant, and participated in a tree plantation initiative on the CSIR-IMMT campus.
Dr.Kali Sanjay, Chief Scientist and Head of Business Development, elaborated on CSIR-IMMT’s ongoing collaborations with leading Australian institutions, including the University of South Australia, Adelaide, through the Australia-India Strategic Research Fund, and CSIRO, Australia, in advancing critical minerals research. H.E.Hugh Boylan expressed his appreciation for the growing Indo-Australian collaborations in critical minerals and emphasized the potential for further partnerships in skill development, training programs, and commercial technology development in this sector.
