Bhubaneswar (12/03/2025): The Odisha government on Wednesday withdrew the restriction on journalists carrying mobile phones inside the State Assembly.
Minister Surjyabanshi Suraj confirmed the decision and said the ban has been lifted.
However, the state government has maintained restrictions on clicking photographs and recording videos from the media gallery.
Earlier in the day, journalists had staged a protest near the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the Assembly after they were prohibited from taking their mobile phones into the press gallery of the House.
