XIM University hosts International Conference on Reimagining Existence: Emerging Perspectives in World Literature and Language

Bhubaneswar(11/03/2025): The School of Liberal Arts, XIM University (New Campus), in association with the Department of English, successfully hosted the International Conference on the topic “Reimagining Existence: Emerging Perspectives in World Literature and Language” on March 10 & 11, 2025.
The conference began with a welcome address by Dr.P.V.Padma, Academic Dean, School of Liberal Arts, XIM University.
The Inaugural Address by Fr.Antony R.Uvari, SJ, Vice Chancellor, XIM University, set the tone for the day.
The inauguration also featured the release of the Book of Abstracts and the SLA Newsletter, marking a significant milestone in literary and linguistic research. The conference witnessed insightful keynote and plenary sessions from distinguished scholars across the globe.
Prof.David Anshen (University of Texas Rio Grande Valley) delivered the Keynote Address, setting the stage for thought-provoking discussions on contemporary literary and cultural studies.
The plenary speeches featured Prof.Pramod K.Nayar (University of Hyderabad), Prof.Matthias Freise (University of Göttingen, Germany), Prof.Rita S.Kranidis (Montgomery College, Maryland, USA), Prof.Avishek Parui (IIT Madras), and Prof.Saugata Bhaduri (JNU, New Delhi), each offering unique insights into evolving literary narratives and linguistic transformations.
The Day 2 continued with engaging sessions, featuring additional plenary speeches and paper presentations, leading to a Closing Address by Fr.S.Antony Raj S.J., Registrar, XIM University.
The event showcased parallel paper presentations on Postcolonial Literature, Digital Humanities, and Language Studies, fostering lively discussions on the evolving role of literature and language.
A vibrant cultural program celebrated global literary traditions, leading to the Best Paper Presentation Awards, recognizing outstanding research contributions. The conference successfully provided a platform for scholars, academicians, and students to exchange ideas, challenge conventional perspectives, and reimagine the role of literature and language in contemporary society.
