21st Dhauli-Kalinga Mahotsav inaugurated

Bhubaneswar(07/02/2025): The 21st Dhauli - Kalinga Mahotsav jointly organized by Department of Odia Language, Literature & Culture, Government of Odisha and Orissa Dance Academy in association with Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi and Art Vision.
The main objective for organization of this festival is to preserve, promote and popularize the heritage at the national and international level.
The festival is a unique confluence of more than 200 artistes belonging to various art forms of Indian dance tradition and it celebrates unity in diversity.
This festival is organized from to February 7 to 9, 2025 at the foothill of Dhauli Shanti Stupa, Bhubaneswar.
The festival was Live in DD-Bharat and repeat telecasted in DD-Odia Channel. In the beginning of the programme, eminent Odissi dancer Guru Durga Charan Ranbir, who was announced to receive the prestigious Padma Shri award, was felicitated by the Orissa Dance Academy.
The first programme of the inaugural evening was Odissi dance by artistes from Soor Mandir led by Guru Dr.Jyotsna Sahoo, Cuttack.
Their first item was Ganesham set to Rag - Rag Malika and Tal - Kaharwa followed by Barshabhisara set to Rag-Malika and Tal-Malika.
Both the dances composed by Guru Dr.Jyotsna Sahoo, music composed by Agnimitra Behera, rhythm composed by Guru Dhaneswar Swain.
Second programme was Bharatnatyam dance by the dancers of Pavitra Art Visual Institute founded by Pavitra Bhat.
Their first item was Melaprapti with Alaripu and Ganesha Stuti followed by Natanam Adinaar and last item was Tillana.
The dance were mesmerized the audience who were engrossed by the enchanting presentation of the students of Pavitra Art Visual Institute, Mumbai.
The dancers were Pavitra Bhat, Aparna Madkshira, Sakshi Pai, Swara Raut, Nivedita Sandeep, Malavika Nair, Amulya Shetty & Sowmya Raghavendra Pai. Evening last presentation was Mallakhamb Fate Fighter by Gyana Ranjan Mohanty & Group, Puri.
They were presented Sibganesh a story relating to the birth of Lord Ganesh. The dignitaries who graced the occasion were Baboo Singh, MLA, Ekamra Bhubaneswar, Prof.Ramhari Das, Eminent Singer, Composer & Musicologist, Guru Ratikanta Mohapatra, Director, Srjan, Guru Dhaneswar Swain, Eminent Mardala Player, Ranjan Das, Former Director, Odia Language Literature & Culture, Nirupama Sahoo, Bhubaneswar Block Chairman, Janardan Rajuurs, Choreographer, Guru Dr.Aruna Mohanty, Secretary, Orissa Dance Academy.
The programme was anchored by Dr.(En.) Srinivas Ghatuari and Nazia Alam.
