Kranti appeals to people to build cancer-free India

Brahmapur (04/02/2025): On the occasion of World Cancer Day, "Let's raise awareness together, build a cancer-free India" is the message that Kranti, a leading social organization of Berhampur, and Mahatma Gandhi Cancer Hospital and Research Center in Visakhapatnam, have called upon the countrymen to raise awareness together, to build a cancer-free India.
The awareness program organized at the playground of the Government Industrial Training Center in Berhampur of Ganjam district under the chairmanship of Kranti's Executive Director and oral cancer patient Dr.Debananda Dash was attended by former MLA Dr.Ramesh Chandra Chayupattanayak, BeMC Mayor Sanghamitra Dalai, former Odisha Cashew Corporation Chairman Subash Maharana, Mahatma Gandhi Cancer Hospital and Research Center in Visakhapatnam The center's chief radiation oncologist Dr.Kanhu Charan Patra, Brahmapur chief diabetes Dr.Sunil Kota, MKCG Medical College and Hospital's TB and Chest Associate Professor Dr.Priyajit Jena, Manu Sena, Ganjam Chairperson Meena Dyan Samantray, Samantray Academy Director Debesh Samantray and Government ITI Principal Er.Ranjan Kumar Parida along with many dignitaries and various media persons were present to make the students aware of the dangers of cancer on the occasion of World Cancer Day.
Under the supervision of Kranti organization Executive Director Dr.Debananda Dash, the said awareness meeting and huge walk, as he is a mouth cancer patient, he told the people to raise awareness among the public against cancer.
Due to lack of proper awareness, people think that death is certain from this disease and lakhs of people die every year.
Cancer treatment is very easy nowadays and if proper treatment is given, the patient can survive.
He appealed to all the present and said that let us all come together to create awareness and save India from cancer.
He made everyone present take a pledge and formulated the mantra of Quit Tobacco and Choose Life.
Dr.Patra shed light on cancer and informed everyone how people can get treatment easily.
All the guests showed placards and started a huge walk (walkathon).
In this huge ceremony and public walk, various social institutions, volunteers along with Samantraya Academy, Aryan Gurukul, K.C.Public School, ITI Berhampur, Jyan Vikas English Medium School, Nalanda Higher Secondary School, St.Xavier's School, UCP Engineering School, Siddha Bhairavi Higher Secondary School, Berhampur Police Force, ISRD and One Step Center along with teachers and students from all the schools participated in the walk to create awareness about cancer.
SDPO of Berhampur, Reserve Inspector, other police personnel, all media persons were present and encouraged the students. This grand function was attended by BJP leader Ram Samal, Kranti organization's Debaraj Raut, Nirmala Dash, Arun Patnaik, Charchika Dash, Chinmayananda Dash, B Sanjay Patra, Ashish Behera, Dilesh Rao, Purna Chandra Sahu and Mahatma Gandhi Cancer Hospital and Research Center's A.Pratap Rao, P.Anand Rao and Gautam, ITI's Ratikanata Parida, Tutu Padhai and all the TOs and ATOs, all the members of Kranti Institute were present and cooperated in organizing the program.
Finally, Dr.Debananda Dash thanked everyone from the bottom of his heart for their cooperation.
