Odisha government increases material costs for midday meals

Bhubaneswar (30/11/2024): The Odisha government has increased the material costs for midday meals in primary and upper primary schools under the PM Poshan Scheme.As per the communique from the Department of School and Mass Education to all the district collectors, the material cost for midday meals for primary students reading in Class I to V has been increased from the existing Rs.5.90 to Rs.7.64.Similarly, the same for upper primary students studying in Class VI to VIII has been hiked from Rs.8.82 to Rs.10.94.The revised material cost to be paid from December 1, 2024, stated the communique.
