
ASSOCHAM CSR Excellence Award for Smile Foundation
New Delhi (31/07/2024): Smile Foundation is conferred with the coveted ASSOCHAM Odisha CSR and Sustainability Excellence Award 2024 as the sole winner under the Health and Wellness category.The award function and summit was graced by Sampad Chandra Swain, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Industries, Skill Development and Technical Education, Odisha; A.T.Mishra, Deputy Director General of Forests (C), Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government.of India; Pankaj Lochan Mohanty, Chairman, Odisha State Development Council, ASSOCHAM, along with other dignitaries and industry stalwarts.Being recognized as the winner in the Health and Wellness category at the Odisha CSR and Sustainability Excellence Awards 2024 by ASSOCHAM is an honour that acknowledges the tireless efforts of our dedicated health team on the ground, said Santanu Mishra, Co-founder & Executive Trustee of Smile Foundation.Smile Foundations healthcare programme include mobile medical units, tele-medicine centres, static clinics, and multi-speciality health camps.In healthcare as of today, Smile Foundation has 91 operational mobile medical units, 10 mobile telemedicine units, four mobile dental units and three static clinics operational in 73 districts (with 27 aspirational districts) across 16 states of India.During the year, 1.06 million individuals benefitted at their doorsteps that included 75 per cent children and women.Services are free of cost, which include consultation with qualified doctors, pathological services, medicines, referral etc.The accolade is a recognition of Smile Foundations work that has brought healthcare to aspirational districts and tribal populations, reaching some of the hardest-to-reach and underserved communities, addressing unique challenges across difficult terrains, and ensuring no one is left behind. Beyond providing essential healthcare services, Smile Foundation has also been creating comprehensive awareness programmes covering child health, maternal and elderly care, communicable diseases, and educating communities on crucial lifestyle changes, effectively complementing the governmental health missions.
