60-kg fish caught from Mahanandi at Hirakud Dam

Sambalpur (10/07/2024): A large-size fish, weighing around 60 kg was caught from Mahanadi at Burla siphon in Sambalpur district yesterday.

The fish named 'Budhia' got entangled in a fishing net spread near the right-side spillway of the Hirakud dam near Burla Siphon when ome fishermen ventured into Hirakud Dam water to catch fish.

One fisherman could not drag the freshwater fish in his fishing net alone as it was heavy.

So, he took the help of other fish catchers.

Later, they sold the fish to a hotel in Sambalpur city.
