International conference on Paid Period Leave held for first time

New Delhi(09/07/2024): For the very first-time, an international conference on Paid Period Leave was held in New Delhi.
World leaders from 20 different countries having a diverse background with experience in their respective domains and working in UN and government offices or working as political leaders, academicians,business heads senior professionals and heads of social organizations participated in this event and shared their valuable thoughts on implementing Paid Period Leave (PPL) both in Public, Private or Government departments. Paid period leave is a visionary thought of Ranjeeta Priyadarshini, who is student of law from Chhattisgarh and daughter from Odisha state in India. She, being founder of this drive, organized this International conference with other collaborating organizations namely Roots2Bloom,Janadesh Foundation, Eco consulting services and NSS volunteering unit from Lady Irwin College of Delhi University. The conference started with a lamp lighting ceremony followed by Sambalpuri folk dance performance done by Rumkujhumana Folk Sambalpuri Troupe, who hails from Odisha, India. Chief Guest, Dr.Rinchen Chophel who is Director General of SAIEVAC, Vice-Chair, Rapporteur, and Focal Point for the Asia Pacific at the UN CRC Committee supported this campaign with his words.
During his Inaugural speech Dr.Rinchen praised young change maker Ranjeeta Priyadarshini on raising up her voice towards a very useful aspect of both health and hygiene for all working women. Guest of Honour.
Dr.Thousif Pasha of BU Abdullah Group announced plans to implement PPL in 25 Different organizations which are having their presence both in international locations and India. On this occasion Ranjeeta shared her story on how she keeps on reaching out to lawmakers and also different organizations just with a Nobel thought of implementing PPL and thereby empowering all working women across the globe. A souvenir 'VISION 2024 for PPL' was launched during this event for the first time. Chief guest with all Global change makers also launched first e-campaign for #mhminGirlchild.A campaign which is focused towards creating awareness about menstrual hygiene among Indian schools and girl child. In the same conference names of Global ambassadors for both PPL and #mhmingirlchild campaign " was announced. Dr.Rinchen Chophel Chief guest himself announced that he will take up the responsibility of #PPL Campaign Global Ambassador.For #MHMinGirlchild Campaign Rosetta K.Fomba from Liberia and Ottilie L Haufiku from Namibia were declared as Global Ambassador. There happens to be an impressive lineup of experts who share their knowledge and insights on various important topics.
