Malkangiri emerges as hottest place in Odisha

Bhubaneswar (02/04/2024): Malkangiri district emerged as the hottest place in Odisha on Tuesday recording temperature of 41.7 degrees Celsius. Eight places in the state witnessed temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius. Titlagarh (41.5), Boudh (41.4), Bhawanipatna (41.2), Nayagarh (41) and Balangir (41). Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department has issued heatwave alert for the country.
India is likely to experience heatwave conditions during April, May and June.
The maximum impact is likely to be felt in Odisha, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh.
