Bhubaneswar(18/11/2022): There should be encouragement and inspiration in every spear to bring into forefront the inner talents of the children.
Along with education they should be taught to work for the betterment of the society from the early age, said eminent dignitaries present at the inaugural ceremony of 33rd PECUC Sisumela (Children festival) of People’s Cultural Centre (PECUC), a leading voluntary organization of Odisha at Ekamarahaat Ampetheatre, Bhubaneswar.
This inaugural ceremony started with lighting of lamp by guests.
Joining the inaugural ceremony as chief guest Ananta Narayan Jena, Member Odisha Legislative Assembly said children should learn to identify their talent and also should get opportunity to exhibit it.
Sulochana Das, Mayor Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) appreciated the work PECUC doing for the protection of children.
Mandakini Kar, Chairperson, Odisha State Protection for Child Rights gave call to protect the present of the children for a better tomorrow.
The parents should try to recognize the inner talent of their children and should work for refining it.
Pradosh Kumar Pattnaik, Senior Journalist and President of PECUC Sisumela committee presided over the over the inaugural function.
Ranjan Kumar Mohanty, Secretary PECUC gave the welcome address and shared the information about PECUC Sisumela.
Among others Radhika Srivastavs, Advocacy, Communications and Partnership specialist of UNICEF, Minakhi Panda, Chairperson PECUC, Anshika Routray, PECUC’s Goodwill Ambassador for Promotion of Right of the Children to Play spoke on the occasion.
Anuradha Mohanty, Executive Director of PECUC gave the vote of thanks and gave information about the children festival.
On this occasion the first edition of “Mo Katha Suno”, a book prepared by child reporter with support from UNICEF was released by the child reporter Subhenu Sekhar Das and Ipsita Mohanty along with the guests.
Winners of Rhymes and drawing competition also received the prizes today.
Odissi Dance competition was organized and also colourful cultural programme was performed by children of Dasaabatara Natya Sala and Divya Jyoti Smruti Pitha cultural troupe.
Ratna Dash, Jyotishankar Mohanty, Sandhya Rani Kanungo, Samar Kumar Pattnaik of PECUC facilitated the programme.
On 20th November, the Annual Awards giving ceremony of PECUC will be organised
