Bhubaneswar(05/01/2025): The state-level Adivasi Mela 2025 kicked off at IDCO Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.
Chief Minister Mohan Majhi inaugurated the tribal fair which will continue till January 16.
ST&SC Development, Minorities & Backward Classes Welfare Minister Nityananda Gond, MP Aparajita Sarangi, Ekamra MLA Babu Singh, ST&SC Development, Minorities & Backward Classes Welfare Sanjeev Kumar Mishra and other government officials were present.
The Chief Minister launched the Sahid Madho Singh Haath Kharcha Yojana.
Under the scheme, tribal students will get Rs 5,000 each for pursiung higher education.
The CM also felicitated tribal achievers and unveiled the magazine 'Banaja 2025 ' of Academy of Tribal Language and Culture (ATLC).
He said, "The Adivasi Mela will boost the demand for tribal products.
This mela will bring about a unique blend of culture and education."
This year, Adivasi Mela will create the illusion of a tribal village in the city.
Pravasi Bharatiya Divas being organized in Odisha first time, this year ST&SC Development, Minorities & Backward Classes Welfare Department organised the Tribal Fair.
The main attractions of this year will be tribal village, tribal haat, art and craft stalls, tribal food courts, live demonstrations, Bhagwan Birsa Munda Pavilion.
This year, 20 tribal huts have been constructed.
Tribal goods will be sold in 147 stalls.
In addition, 40 stalls have been erected for the art and craft and 15 stalls will have the facility of live demonstrations.
In addition, galleries related to Birsa Munda's Life and Journey, National and state freedom fighters’ gallery, painting exhibition, Mini Theatre, Photo Exhibition have been arranged in 5 galleries of Bhagwan Birsa Munda Pavilion.
Tribal dance and music will be performed every evening, along with a laser show based on the life and journey of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, a drone show based on the tribes of Odisha, a light and sound show based on the tribal freedom fighters of Odisha, a fashion show and a fireworks show.
