New Delhi(31/01/2022): President Ram Nath Kovind on Monday hailed the COVID-19 vaccination drive of India during the first day of the Budget Session of Parliament.
Addressing the joint sitting of the Parliament, the President said, “India stood strong in its battle against the third wave of COVID-19.
We are leading globally with our vaccine drive.
Several Made in India vaccines are helping the world fight COVID.
We are focusing on ensuring that every citizen gets vaccinated.”
Appreciating the achievements and welfare schemes of the Centre, the President said, “More than 2 crore people got pucca houses.
Drinking water has transformed people’s lives.
Over 6 crore rural houses have got piped water.
Women in rural parts have been benefited greatly from piped water access.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed the nation ahead of the Budget Session and said, “I am looking forward for a productive Budget Session this year.”
The Prime Minister appealed to the Parliamentarians to maintain decorum.
The key issues likely to be raised in the Parliament include farmers’ distress, relief package for COVID victims, Sale of Air India and Chinese Incursions.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Budget 2022-23 on February 1.
